Dr. Bernhard Zeisl
Dr. Bernhard Zeisl is a software engineer at Google Zurich. He is currently working on visual localization and environment mapping which is part of the core technology that enables fully autonomous 3D perception for Tango — a platform that uses computer vision to give mobile devices the ability to understand their position relative to the world around them.
Bernhard holds a PhD in computer science from ETH Zurich. His research was focused on image-based camera localization and 3D reconstruction and is published in several articles. He strongly believes that we live in exciting times, since only recently research concepts have majored and mobile devices got powerful enough to enable completely new ways of human-computer interaction and to fuse virtual information with reality.
Bernhard also holds a Masters degree in in electrical engineering from TU Munich and graduated from the Center for Digital Technology and Management (CDTM) in Munich.
In his talk he will present Tango and its mission to mobile augmented reality.
